The Department of SAARC & Regional Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized the Fifth Meeting of the National Focal Point and Sectoral Focal Points for SAARC, BIMSTEC & other regional organizations from 1st to 3rd July 2019 in Bumthang.

More than 30 participants, comprising of Director General, Directors, Chiefs of Divisions and other officials from different Ministries and agencies attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed and discussed the numerous activities and programs carried out by the Ministries and agencies during the past one year as a result of Bhutan’s membership to the regional organizations. The meeting, which is an annual event, also provided a forum for the participants to exchange views, share experiences, comments and suggestions on how to further strengthen coordination and cooperation between the National Focal Point (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Sectoral Focal Points in implementing activities under the regional cooperation.
