Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade RGOB
The Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, in recognition of his support and contribution to Bangladesh’s Independence War of 1971, has conferred Hon’ble Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering, Minister for Foreign Affairs with a “Friends of Liberation War Honour”.
The Honour was presented by H.E. Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan, on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 31 January, 2013. The award comprised a certificate and a replica of the national mausoleum which is a monument built in honor of the people who participated in the independence war in the then East Pakistan (Bangladesh).
A similar Award was conferred to Dasho Karma Dorjee, former Secretary of Ministry of Economic Affairs on 15th December, 2012 in Dhaka.
