hmnpm-660x330Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh unveiled the foundation stone plaque for the construction of Bangladesh Embassy Premises at Hejo this morning in the presence of His Majesty the King. Honโ€™ble Prime Minister of Bhutan and other senior government officials were also present at the ceremony.

The Agreement between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of the Peopleโ€™s Republic of Bangladesh on the Allotment of User Right of land under Hejo Samtenling Lap was signed by the Foreign Ministers of Bhutan and Bangladesh during the event. Through the Agreement, the Royal Government of Bhutan grants to the Government of Bangladesh User Right of the land measuring 65340 sq. feet for construction of Bangladesh Embassy Premises in Bhutan. The Deed for the User Right of the land between the two Governments was also signed at the event.

In 2014, the Government of Peopleโ€™s Republic of Bangladesh granted to the Royal Government of Bhutan land measuring 321.895 sq. meters in Baridhara Diplomatic Enclave, Dhaka for the construction of Bhutanese Embassy premises in Bangladesh.
