On behalf of the Royal Government of Bhutan H.E. Ambassador Sonam T. Rabgye  received  package of  essential  medicine from H.E.  Mr.  Mohammed Nasim, Minister for Health and Family Welfare of the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh on 23rd July 2018 to symbolize the handing over of 258 essential medicines to the Kingdom of Bhutan.

During the State visit to Bhutan by H.E. Sheikh Hasina, Hon ‘ble Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in April 2017 the Royal Government of Bhutan requested for the supply of essential medicines for one year.

The consignment of medicines will be delivered in three phases to the Ministry of Health, Royal Government of Bhutan in September, October and November 2018.

Bangladesh and Bhutan share a special bond of friendship and understanding which rests in history and political leadership ever since Bhutan became the first country to recognize Bangladesh’s Independence on 6th  December 1971.
