The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS) hosted the Fourth Meeting of the BIMSTEC Network of Policy Think Tanks (BNPTT) in Thimphu from 27-28 December 2018.

Representatives from the seven policy Think Tanks from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and officials from the BIMSTEC Secretariat and the Royal Government participated in the Meeting.

Major decision of the Meeting include producing policy briefs focusing on respective lead areas, and to seek funds from the Member States to conduct studies and proposals developed by BNPTT members. The Meeting also discussed on reprioritization of the areas of BIMSTEC cooperation to make it more result oriented. Raising awareness of BIMSTEC through social as well as mainstream media was also discussed. The Report of the Meeting will be submitted to the next Meeting of the BIMSTEC Senior Officials Meeting.
