The Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB) will be presenting its Third Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the situation of human rights in Bhutan to the UN Human Rights Council’s Working Group on 8th May 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland. Lyonpo (Dr.) Tandi Dorji, Minister for Foreign Affairs will be leading a delegation composed of senior officials from various agencies of the Royal Government, including a representative of the Civil Society Organization (CSO). The Review of a Member State’s human rights record is under taken on the basis of a national report submitted by the RGoB and independent reports submitted by the various treaty bodies, UN entities, CSOs and human rights watch groups.
