Bhutan and Japan to hold 3rd Annual Consultative Meeting

Bhutan and Japan will hold their 3rd Annual Consultative Meeting on the 26th of August 2008 in New Delhi. The meeting will review bilateral cooperation projects as well as discuss future cooperation, in addition to maintaining regular interaction for exchange of views between the two governments.

The Bhutanese delegation to the meeting will be led by the Director General, Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Mr. Lhatu Wangchuk. The members of the Bhutanese delegation include officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Gross National Happiness Commission, National Environment Commission and the Bhutan Power Corporation.

Economic cooperation between the two countries dates back to the 4th Plan in the 70’s. The Government of Japan continues to be an important bilateral development partner of the Royal Government of Bhutan.  Ministry of Foreign Affairs22nd August 2008
