Bhutan’s Honorary Consul in Australia called on Hon’ble Foreign Minister

Mrs. Catherine Harris, Bhutan’s Honorary Consul in Australia called on Hon’ble Foreign Minister, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji yesterday evening at the Gyalyong Tshokhang. Mrs. Catherine was accompanied by her husband Mr. David Harris, founder of Harris Farm Markets Pty Limited, Australia’s largest fresh produce supermarket chain.

Hon’ble Lyonpo congratulated the Honorary Consul on her re-appointment and expressed appreciation for her service and representing Bhutan in Australia. Hon’ble Lyonpo acknowledged the significant role she played as Bhutan’s Honorary Consul in Australia.

The Honorary Consul called on Hon’ble Lyonchhen and met with Ambassador Sonam Tshong, Officiating Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Kesang Wangdi, Director, Department of Bilateral Affairs, MoFA and officials from the Scholarship Division at the Ministry of Education yesterday.

Ms. Catherine Harris was first appointed as the Honorary Consul of Bhutan with jurisdiction throughout Australia in July 2004. She has been recently re-appointed as Bhutan’s Honorary Consul in Australia for the fourth term in August 2016 for a period of three years.
