Citizen Identity Card Renewal

For Bhutanese living abroad required CID renewal, they must.

1. Write to the Director-General, Department of Civil Registration and Census, MoHCA by authorizing anyone of your relatives or someone known to you based in Bhutan with a copy of visa (country of residence) and one passport size photo.
2. The normal renewal fee of Nu. 100 shall be applicable only if the applicant/authorized representative is able to produce the old CID card in original. Otherwise, a renewal fee of Nu. 400/- is applicable.
3. The Consulate General in New York or the Ministry cannot apply for renewal of CID on your behalf.
