NOTIFICATION ON A RELIEF FLIGHT
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to announce that a relief flight is being arranged to and from Singapore on 22 August 2020 that will be operated by Drukair. Therefore, Bhutanese who are abroad and wishing to return to the country are requested to contact your nearest Embassies and Missions and register with them for the flight. While the Ministry still advises Bhutanese in the country to refrain from travelling abroad given the pandemic, few who need to travel due to unavoidable circumstances may complete formalities and register with the Ministry. All travels will be subject to receiving transit clearance from the government of Singapore. For further queries kindly contact the following officials:

Travel Advisory on Thailand
As per the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) notification dated 29 June 2020, while the temporary ban on international flights entering Thailand will continue, there will be an easing of restrictions for passenger flights under certain conditions from 01 July 2020.
The groups of people permitted to travel to Thailand will need to seek prior approval for their travel and meet the requirements of COVID-19 free certificate, fit to fly medical certificate, health insurance with coverage no less than USD 100,000 (with COVID-19 coverage) and mandatory 14-day quarantine at the designated alternative State quarantine facilities.
A certificate of entry will be issued by the Thai Authorities after submission of all the required documents. Visas must then be applied for from the nearest Thai Embassy/Consulate (there is no visa exemption for any passport category).
Those who wish to travel to Thailand may register themselves with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thimphu

According to the latest Notification of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, the ban on international passenger flights to Thailand will be extended from 18 April 2020 at 17.00 UTC to 30 April 2020 at 17.00 UTC. All flight permits granted for such period will be canceled.
The ban does not apply to state or military aircraft, emergency landing, technical landing without disembarkation, humanitarian, medical or relief flights, repatriation flights and cargo flights.The passengers on board will be subject to the measures under communicable disease law, such as 14 day state quarantine, and the regulation under the Emergency Decree on State of Emergency

The Kingdom of Thailand has declared a state of Emergency and all Foreigners will be restricted entry at all points with the exception of the following:
Transit, transfer and entry into Thailand are however allowed only for:

Persons with exemption from the Prime Minister or the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand under certain conditions and prescribed time period; and
-
Persons on diplomatic or consular mission, or under international organizations, representatives of the Government performing their duties in Thailand or other persons or international agencies that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives permission, and their families. In this case certificate of entry to the Kingdom issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required.

Non Thai nationals with work permit or who have been granted permission from Thai Government agencies to work in Thailand.
The persons in Sl. No. 2 and 3 must have fit to fly health certificate issued no more than 72 hrs before travelling.
Passengers or persons permitted to enter Thailand shall strictly comply with disease prevention measures imposed by the Government.
The Immigration Officers have the power to deny the entry of non-Thai Nationals who have been tested positive for COVID-19, or under the suspicion of being infected or who refuse to undergo such test.
Singapore (as of 19 March 2020)
All short-term visitors will no longer be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore from 11.59pm on Monday (March 23) in view of the heightened risks of importing coronavirus into the country.
Nepal (as of 31 March 2020)
All international and domestic commercial flights remain suspended in Nepal till 15 April 2020 midnight (23:59 Nepalese Standard Time).
Bangladesh (as of 29 March 2020)
The Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has taken the following decision in view of the latest coronavirus related developments:

With effect from 0001 hrs (BST), 31 March 2020 until 2359 hrs (BST), 7 April 2020, all scheduled international commercial passenger flights from Bahrain, Bhutan, Hongkong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and UAE shall not be allowed to land at any international airport in Bangladesh.

Any traveller who lived in or visited EU region and Iran since 1 March 2020 will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh until 15 April 2020. The nationals of the countries of the EU region and Iran who are living outside the EU region and Iran since 29th February 2020 can travel to Bangladesh with valid visas.

Foreign nationals having valid visas will be required to produce a medical certificate (with English translation) to be obtained within 72 hours of travel, indicating that he/she does not have any symptoms of COVID-19. The individual needs to submit these certificates on arrival at the entry point (airport/sea port/land port) in Bangladesh.
Hong Kong (24 March 2020)
All visitors to the city and transit services at the Hong Kong International airport will be suspended from 12:01 am, 25 March, 2020.

In case individual wishes to fly out amidst COVID-19 pandemic, travelers are advised to report to Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs before purchasing tickets. For those wishing to undertake unavoidable travels, please ensure that travel restrictions of the port of disembarkation (including transit) are understood, all basic preventive measures are taken and extreme caution is exercised. Further, travelers are directed to also refer to information on the website of the Ministry of Health www.health.gov.bt and also directly consult relevant officials in the Health Ministry if travel is unavoidable.

All on-arrival visas of Bangladesh will remain suspended till 15 April 2020 for all incoming passengers of all countries.

Any passenger who lived in or visited EU Region and Iran since 1 March 2020, will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh until 15 April 2020. The nationals of the countries of the EU Region and Iran who are living outside the EU Region and Iran since 29 February 2020 can travel to Bangladesh with valid visas.

Those who will henceforth be arriving in Bangladesh from any coronavirus affected countries are advised to remain under quarantine for two weeks after their arrival. Health officials at the entry points would decide whether they would be self-quarantined or in the government run facilities. Those under self-quarantine would be monitored by law enforcement agencies for strict compliance. This will continue until further notice.
Bhutanese travellers transiting through Dhaka airport are not required to carry a COVID-19 free health certificate and layover is recommended not to be more than 12 hours.
Hong Kong (24 March 2020)

India (as of 25 March 2020)
The entire nation will be under lock down for 21 days till midnight of 14 April 2020.
Thailand (as of 24 March 2020)
In order to facilitate urgent transit of passengers through Thailand to the third countries, the Government of Thailand gave special exemption on the requirement of aCOVID-19 free health certificate and an insurance policy of USD 100,000/- until 31 March 2020. However, the transit passengers will be required to furnish fit to fly certificate and transit layover should not be more than 24 hours.
However passengers willing to enter Thailand irrespective of their port of embarkation would still need to present:
- A health certificate certifying that they “pose no risk of being infected by the COVID-19” (issued no more than 72 Hours prior to the date of travel).
- Additionally, travelers will also require an insurance policy with coverage no less than USD 100,000.
Additionally, visa on arrival in Thailand is suspended until 30 September 2020.
Foreign tourists arriving at all international airport in Thailand will be required to download an AOT Airports application onto their mobile phones; fill up individual bio-data and present to the Immigration.
Singapore (as of 19 March 2020)
All short-term visitors will no longer be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore from 11.59pm on Monday (March 23) in view of the heightened risks of importing coronavirus into the country.
Nepal (as of 24 March 2020)
Nepal has imposed nationwide lockdown till 31 March 2020.
Bangladesh (as of 21 March 2020)
The Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has taken the following decision in view of the latest coronavirus related developments:
- With effect from 0000 hrs of 22 March 2020 until 31 March 2020, all commercial passenger flights from Bahrain, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey and UAE shall not be allowed to land at any international airport in Bangladesh.
- Commercial flights to and from China, Hong Kong, Thailand and UK will continue to operate until further notice. Persons who need to depart from Bangladesh may like to use one of these routes.
- Special flights will be allowed to take foreign nationals from Bangladesh on case-by-case basis.
- All on-arrival visas of Bangladesh will remain suspended till 15 April 2020 for all incoming passengers of all countries.
- Any passenger who lived in or visited EU Region and Iran since 1 March 2020, will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh until 15 April 2020. The nationals of the countries of the EU Region and Iran who are living outside the EU Region and Iran since 29 February 2020 can travel to Bangladesh with valid visas.
- Foreign nationals having a valid visas, or applying for new visas, will be required to produce a medical certificate (with English translation) to be obtained within 72 hours of travel, indicating that he/she does not have any symptoms of COVID-19. The individual needs to submit this certificate on arrival at the entry point (airport/seaport/land port) in Bangladesh.
- Those who will henceforth be arriving in Bangladesh from any coronavirus affected countries are advised to remain under quarantine for two weeks after their arrival. Health officials at the entry points would decide whether they would be self-quarantined or in the government run facilities. Those under self-quarantine would be monitored by law enforcement agencies for strict compliance. This will continue until further notice.
Bhutanese travelers transiting through Dhaka airport are not required to carry a COVID-19 free health certificate and layover is recommended not to be more than 12 hours.
Hong Kong (24 March 2020)
All visitors to the city and transit services at the Hong Kong International airport will be suspended from 12:01 am, 25 March, 2020.

Bhutanese are encouraged to refrain from travel to all countries that have reported cases of coronavirus infection. In the event Bhutanese are not able to reschedule the flights before 22 March 2020 to come to Bhutan then following two options are recommended:

Bhutanese are advised to take a domestic flight to Bagdora and arrange road transport to Phuntsholing or nearest Bhutanese town; OR
-
Bhutanese are also advised to take a bus or train till the nearest station to Bhutan and arrange a road transport to Bhutan thereafter.

All passengers entering Thailand irrespective of their port of embarkation needs to present:

This will be in effect from 18 March 2020 until further notice. Please also note that visa on arrival for Bhutanese has been suspended until 30 September 2020. In the event, the transit layover is more than 12 hours, travellers are advised to arrange a transit visa before commencing travel from the port of embarkation.
Singapore (as of 19 March 2020)
Bhutanese can transit through Singapore. However, passengers originating from Mainland China (except Hubei province), France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, and Spain in the last 14 days will not be allowed entry or transit.
Nepal (as of 20 March 2020)
All international flights to Nepal have been suspended from 22 to 31 March 2020.
Keeping in priority of health safety of the passengers crossing through the border points and with a view to prevent from contagion, arrangements will be made for cross-border movements with mandatory health check-up.

Re-Announcement
1. India

3. Singapore
Bhutanese can transit through Singapore. However, passengers originating from Mainland China (except Hubei province), France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, and Spain in the last 14 days will not be allowed entry or transit.
4. Nepal
Visa on arrival has been suspended. However, Bhutanese willing to visit Nepal for compelling reasons may contact Embassy of Nepal in Delhi during office hours. A recent swab test PCR health certificate issued maximum 7 days before their arrival to Nepal is mandatory along with visa application and it has to be submitted at the Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.
All foreign nationals entering Nepal since 14 March 2020 are subjected to stay in Self Quarantine for 14 days from the date of their arrival. All the land ports of entry in Nepal remain closed since 14 March 2020 till 30 April 2020 to the foreigners from the third countries and such foreigners are requested to use Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu only.
Note: In view of the above, Bhutanese are advised to defer travel plans till the restrictions are lifted OR be guided by the travel advisories issued.

Drukair has rescheduled Delhi-Paro flight KB205 on 23rd March to 22nd March since all international flights will not be allowed to land in India after 22nd March till 30th March.

The above instructions are in addition to the following advisory issued earlier
In the circular dated 16 March 2020 from the Government of India pertaining to travel and visa restrictions, the following additional restrictions are imposed:
- Passengers coming from and transiting through UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait will be compulsorily quarantined for 14 days starting 1200 GMT, 18 March 2020 at the port of first departure.
- Travel of passengers from member countries of European Union and European Free Trade Association, Turkey and United Kingdom to India is prohibited w.e.f. 18 March 2020. No airline shall board a passenger from these nations to India w.e.f. 1200 GMT, 18 March 2020. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
- Travel of passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines, Malaysia to India is prohibited with immediate effect. No flight shall take off from these countries to India after 1500 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) 17 March 2020. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
- The above instructions are temporary measures and shall be in force till 31 March 2020 and will be reviewed thereafter.
Against the above backdrop, the Bhutanese travellers are advised to:
- Avoid travelling from or transiting through above countries until the restrictions are lifted.
- Only transit through Delhi or other Indian airports and not to exit the airports. Exiting the airport may subject the travellers to strict quarantine for 14 days.
Thailand (as of 20 March 2020)
All passengers entering Thailand irrespective of their port of embarkation needs to present:
- A health certificate certifying that they “pose no risk of being infected by the COVID-19” (issued no more than 72 Hours prior to the date of travel).
- Additionally, travelers will also require an insurance policy with coverage no less than USD 100,000.
These new control measures will take effect from 22 March 2020, 00.00 hrs (Thailand local time) onwards. Travellers are also advised to check on these requirements with their respective airlines prior to their travel.
- Visa on arrival in Thailand is suspended until 30 September 2020.
- Foreign tourists arriving at all international airport in Thailand will be required to download an AOT Airports application onto their mobile phones; fill up individual biodata and present to the Immigration.
Singapore (as of 19 March 2020)
List of Countries/Regions and Measures for in-bound Travellers:
- Travellers who have travelled to Hubei province (mainland China) in the last 14 days will have to undergo 14-day quarantine for Singapore Residents and Long Term Pass Holders. For Short-Term Visitors with travel history to Hubei province (mainland China) in the last 14 days will not be allowed entry or transit.
- Singapore Residents and Long Term Pass Holders who have travelled to Mainland China (except Hubei province), France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, and Spain in the last 14 days will be given SHN for 14 days. Short term visitors from these places will not be allowed entry or transit.
- Singapore Residents and Long Term Pass Holders who have travelled to all other remaining countries/regions (not specified in Sl. No. 1 & 2) in the last 14-day will be given SHN for 14 days. Short term visitors from these places will also be given 14 days SHN*. Short-term visitors who are ASEAN nationals will also be required to submit requisite health information for approval before travelling
*Short-term visitors are required to provide proof of the place where they will serve the 14-day SHN, for example, a hotel booking covering the entire period, or a place of residence they or their family members own.
Nepal (as of 19 March 2020)
All the passengers coming through direct flights, having a transit at, and taking the first flight originating from Europe, West-Asia and all the Gulf Countries, Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan are subjected to arrival restrictions in Nepal which shall come into effect from 20 March 2020 (Friday) midnight Nepali Standard Time. Till 12 April 2020 (Sunday) midnight NST.
Visa on arrival for all foreign nationals have been suspended from 14 March 2020 till 30 April 2020.

Canada (as of 15 March 2020)
Canada will be closing its borders to anyone who is not a citizen or a permanent resident. The new measure to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in Canada does not include US citizens.
Canadian borders have now been completely closed to all inbound travellers, except for permanent Canadian residents, the immediate family members of Canadian citizens, diplomats, air crews, and U.S. citizens. Access to Canada will be restricted beginning 18 March 2020 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.
International flights will also be redirected starting on the 18 March 2020, with all flights from overseas being sent to one of four airports — Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver
Airlines are also now required to do a basic health screening of anyone boarding a flight to Canada and those exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19 will be denied boarding.
Australia (as of 12 and 15 March 2020)
Australia has announced a travel ban for all non-residents and non-Australian citizens coming in to Australia, with effect from 20 March 2020, as part of measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Netherlands (as of 17 March 2020)
Travellers will temporarily not be able to apply for a Schengen visa and visa will temporarily no longer be issued by the Dutch representations worldwide. Only in humanitarian and other exceptional cases, visa issuance can be considered. Foreign visitors to the Netherlands who may be confronted with difficulties returning home or continuing their travel to a next destination as a result of international travel restrictions or cancelled flights results in an overstay in the Netherlands and these travellers must apply for an extension with the IND through the regular channels. This in in effect from 17 March 2020 till 6 April, 2020.
Japan (as of 17 March 2020)
All persons entering Japan from China or Republic of Korea by aircraft or other means, including persons without symptoms of illness, will be requested to stay for 14 days at a place designated by the Quarantine Station Chief (such as their homes), and not to use public transportation for any purpose, including transport from airports, etc.
Be sure that 14-day quarantine and nonuse of public transportation will not interfere with your itinerary after you enter Japan.
Before entering Japan, be sure to secure an accommodation in Japan where you can stay for 14 days in quarantine (especially important overseas visitors, who have no homes of their own in the country).
Be sure to secure a means of private transportation from the airport to your destination (you will not be permitted to use public transportation).
Information from US Mission in India (as of 15 March 2020)
The US Mission in India has cancelled all US visa appointments from 16 March 2020 onward. Once the Mission resumes regular Consular operations, appointments will be made available and rescheduled.
Sri Lanka (as of 18 March 2020)
The Government of Sri Lanka has decided to close all international airports in Sri Lanka for operation of inward international commercial passenger flights (i.e. arrivals) with effect from 0400 hrs on 19 March 2020 until 2359 hrs on 25 March 2020 (local time in Sri Lanka).
Myanmar (as of 17 March 2020)
Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar will be taking following precautionary measures in relation to COVID-19 outbreak:
- Foreign nationals who had been in high-risk areas such as Hubei Province of the People’s Republic of China, Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regions of the Republic of Korea in the past 14 days shall not be permitted entry into Myanmar until further notice.
- All incoming travelleres including Myanmar nationals, who had been in the Republic of Korea outside those high-risk areas in the past 14 days, shall be subjected to 14-day home quarantine on their arrival. They will also need to present Medical Certificate, issued by a medical facility recognized by the health authorities of the respective countries, of having no symptoms of acute respiratory illness (fever and cough or shortness of breath) before boarding any airline destined to Myanmar.
- All incoming travellers including Myanmar nationals, arriving from or having visited Italy, Iran, France, Spain and Germany in the past 14 days shall be subjected to 14-day facility quarantine on their arrival in Myanmar. As for diplomats accredited to Myanmar and the resident United Nations officials, they will be encouraged to take 14-day home quarantine on their arrival in Myanmar. All are required to present valid Medical Certificate issued by a medical facility recognized by the health authorities of the respective countries of having no symptoms of acute respiratory illness (fever and cough or shortness of breath) before boarding any airline destined to Myanmar.
Maldives (as of 15 March 2020)
All tourist check ins effective 17 March 2020 will be suspended from 17 March 2020 for a period of 14 days. All passengers and crew with travel history to the following countries or regions within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter or transit through the Maldives from the stated date:
- Mainland China, effective 4 February 2020
- Iran, effective 26 February 2020
- Republic of Korea (Daegu, Busan, Gyeonbuk and Gyeongnam), effective 3 March 2020
- Italy, effective 8 March 2020
- Bangladesh, effective from 10 – 24 March 2020
- Spain, effective from 15 March 2020
- France (Ile-de-France and Grand Est), effective 15 March 2020
- Germany (Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Wurttemberg), effective 15 March 2020
- Malaysia, effective 17 March – 18:00 hrs
- United Kingdom, effective 19 March 2020
The citizens of these countries residing or living in another country, or has been out of the country for more than 14 days does not fall to this category.
Maldivian nationals, and foreign nationals married to Maldivians, travelling from the aforementioned affected areas will be allowed to enter the country, but will be subject to 14 days quarantine, upon arrival in the Maldives.
Kingdom of Bahrain (as of 17 March 2020)
The Government of the Kingdom of the Bahrain has announced suspension of issuing of tourist visas on arrival for all nationalities, with the exception of holders of diplomatic, special, service, and United Nations laissez passer passports, and that all other passengers who desire to visit Bahrain must obtain an E-Visa from the Nationality, Passports and residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior prior to their departure effective 03:00 AM local time on March 18, 2020.
Finland (as of 18 March 2020)
Border traffic will be restricted at the internal and external borders of Finland w.e.f. 19 March 2020 (00:00) till 13 April 2020 (midnight). The authorized border crossing points for air traffic would be:- Helsinki, Mariehamn and Turku airports: only for goods traffic, return traffic of Finnish citizens and people residing in Finland or in another member state of European Union, necessary travel for work and other essential transport. Czech Republic (as of 13 March 2020)
Czech Republic declared the state of emergency in its entire territory for 30 days with effect from 12 March 2020, the government resolution orders for example:
- No entry for all foreigners coming from risk areas (except for foreigners staying temporarily over 90 days or persons with permanent residence in Czech Republic);
- To stop receiving applications for Schengen visa or another visa, temporary or permanent residence at all Czech diplomatic missions, consular offices or visa application centres;
- To stop processing of all applications for Schengen Visa which have not been decided yet;
- To stop processing of all applications for residence permits (stay over 90 days) lodged at the Czech diplomatic missions or consular offices.
Vaclav Havel Airport Prague and Prague Kbely airport are the only airports for international traffic. International flights from/to other airports in the Czech Republic are suspended.
Foreigners who are already legally staying in the Czech Republic are entitled to remain in the Czech Republic during validity of their visa (if needed) or residence permit.
Czech Republic reintroduced the controls at the internal land borders with the Federal Republic of Germanu and Austria w.e.f. 13 March 2020 and internal borders can only be crossed at the following designated points:
- At the border with Austria: Dolni Dvoriste – Wullowitz, Ceske Velenice – Gmund, Hate – Kleinhaugsdorf, Mikulov – Drasenhofen
- At the border with Germany: Strazny – Phillippsreut, Pomezi nad Ohri – Schirnding, Rozvadov – Waidhaus, Folmava – Furth im Wald/Schafberg, Zelezna Ruda – Bayerisch Eisenstein, Krasny Les – Breitenau, Hora svateho Sebestiana – Reitzenhain.
Brazil
The Government of Brazil has implemented a voluntary seven-day quarantine measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Travellers should prepare accordingly upon entry into Brazil. This policy applies to all nationalities and visa categories.
Russia
Government of Russian Federation temporary restrictions on entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons are introduced as a precautionary measure in order to counter spread of the coronavirus infection starting from 00:00 (local time) on 18 March 2020 till 00:00 (local time0 on 1 May 2020.
Those restrictions will not apply to certain categories of people: employees (and their family members) of diplomatic missions and consular offices, international organizations and their representations, other official foreign representations located in Russian Federation; drivers of international motor transport, crew members of aircrafts, sea and river vessels, international trains, members of official delegations, bearers of diplomatic, official or regular private visas (only those planning to attend the funeral of a close relative); persons permanently residing in the Russian Federation; transit passengers travelling through air border crossing points (airports). Starting from 00:00(local time) on 18 March, 2020, all the Russian diplomatic and consular mission abroad will temporarily suspend accepting any visa pplications except for diplomatic, official an dregular business visa applications from foreign nationals and stateless persons mentioned above (issuance of visas according to the already accepted applications is being suspended as well). E-visa service also becomes temporarily unavailable.
Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
Effective from midnight on 17 March 2020, entry into Trinidad and Tobago will be restricted fir the next 14 days, except for nationals. Exemptions can be granted in certain circumstances (example mebers of CARPHA). Furrher, cargo ships will be allowed to dock, but crew members will be restricted from disembarking.
Arab Republic of Egypt (as of 17 March 2020)
The Arab Republic of Egypt will suspend all flights at all Egyptian Airports starting from Thursday 19 March 2020 noon time until Tuesday 31 March 2020 till further notice.
Republic of Kazakhstan (as of 16 March 2020)
In order to prevent the spread of coronovirus infection, Kazakhstan has declared the state of emergency. Starting from 08:00 am on March 16, 2020, restriction will be introduced on entry and exit through the state border for the citizens of foreign states, with the exception of:
- foreigners who previously entered Kazakhstan for their departure from Kazakhstan; foreign passengers travelling on transit passengers trains- if they left and were en route before restrictions came into force (until 09:00 on March 16, 2020);
- foreigners who are family members of citizens of Kazakhstan;
- staff of the diplomatic service of Kazakhstan and foreign states and members of their families, as well as members of delegations of foreign states and international organizations travelling to Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Bhutanese are encouraged to refrain from travel to all countries that have reported cases of coronavirus infection. In case of unavoidable travels, please ensure that travel restrictions of the port of disembarkation (including transit) are studied and all basic preventive measures are taken and extreme caution is exercised. Please also refer to information on the website of the Ministry of Health www.health.gov.bt and also directly consult relevant officials in the Health Ministry if travel is unavoidable.

India (as of 17 March 2020)
In the circular dated 16 March 2020 from the Government of India pertaining to travel and visa restrictions, the following additional restrictions are imposed:
- Passengers coming from and transiting through UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait will be compulsorily quarantined for 14 days starting 1200 GMT, 18 March 2020 at the port of first departure.
- Travel of passengers from member countries of European Union and European Free Trade Association, Turkey and United Kingdom to India is prohibited w.e.f. 18 March 2020. No airline shall board a passenger from these nations to India w.e.f. 1200 GMT, 18 March 2020. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
- Travel of passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines, Malaysia to India is prohibited with immediate effect. No flight shall take off from these countries to India after 1500 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) 17 March 2020. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
- The above instructions are temporary measures and shall be in force till 31 March 2020 and will be reviewed thereafter.
Against the above backdrop, the Bhutanese travellers are advised to:
- Avoid travelling from or transiting through above countries until the restrictions are lifted.
- Only transit through Delhi or other Indian airports and not to exit the airports. Exiting the airport may subject the travellers to strict quarantine for 14 days.
Thailand (as of 13 March 2020)
Visa on arrival in Thailand for Bhutanese has been suspended until further notice. Bhutanese who wish to travel to Thailand will have to obtain prior visa and may also be asked to produce a health certificate to say you are free of COVID-19. Foreign tourists arriving at all international airport in Thailand will be required to download an AOT Airports application onto their mobile phones; fill up individual biodata and present to the Immigration.

Nepal (as of 13 March 2020)
Visa on arrival for all foreigners including Bhutanese has been suspended till 30 April 2020. Foreigner with a valid visa for Nepal have to take a swab test and submit on arrival to Immigration authorities a PCR health certificate issued maximum 7 days before arrival. Any foreign nationals including NRNs willing to visit Nepal for compelling reasons may contact to Nepali diplomatic mission abroad. A recent swab test PCR health certificate issued maximum 7 days before their arrival to Nepal is mandatory along with visa application and it has to be submitted at the immigration office TIA.
Bangladesh (as of 15 March 2020)
With effect from 1200 hrs of 16 March 2020 until 31 March 2020, passengers originating from Europe, except for UK, will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh.
All Bangladesh-bound flights, originating from countries that have suspended incoming flights from Bangladesh, will remain suspended.
All on arrivals visas of Bangladesh will remain suspended for two weeks for incoming passengers of all countries.
Those who will henceforth be arriving in Bangladesh from other coronavirus affected countries will be placed under self-quarantine for two weeks after their arrival. This will continue until further notice.
Foreign nationals with valid visas staying in Bangladesh now will have the option of extension of their existing visas by 3 (three) months.
Canada (as of 15 March 2020)
Canada will be closing its borders to anyone who is not a citizen or a permanent resident. The new measure to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in Canada does not include US citizens.
Canadian borders have now been completely closed to all inbound travellers, except for permanent Canadian residents, the immediate family members of Canadian citizens, diplomats, air crews, and U.S. citizens. Access to Canada will be restricted beginning 18 March 2020 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.
International flights will also be redirected starting on the 18 March 2020, with all flights from overseas being sent to one of four airports — Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver
Airlines are also now required to do a basic health screening of anyone boarding a flight to Canada and those exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19 will be denied boarding.
Australia (as 19th March 2020)
Australia has announced a travel ban for all non-residents and non-Australian citizens coming in to Australia, with effect from 20 March 2020, as part of measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Netherlands (as of 17 March 2020)
Travellers will temporarily not be able to apply for a Schengen visa and visa will temporarily no longer be issued by the Dutch representations worldwide. Only in humanitarian and other exceptional cases, visa issuance can be considered. Foreign visitors to the Netherlands who may be confronted with difficulties returning home or continuing their travel to a next destination as a result of international travel restrictions or cancelled flights results in an overstay in the Netherlands and these travellers must apply for an extension with the IND through the regular channels. This in in effect from 17 March 2020 till 6 April, 2020.
Japan (as of 17 March 2020)
All persons entering Japan from China or Republic of Korea by aircraft or other means, including persons without symptoms of illness, will be requested to stay for 14 days at a place designated by the Quarantine Station Chief (such as their homes), and not to use public transportation for any purpose, including transport from airports, etc.
Be sure that 14-day quarantine and nonuse of public transportation will not interfere with your itinerary after you enter Japan.
Before entering Japan, be sure to secure an accommodation in Japan where you can stay for 14 days in quarantine (especially important overseas visitors, who have no homes of their own in the country).
Be sure to secure a means of private transportation from the airport to your destination (you will not be permitted to use public transportation).
Information from US Mission in India (as of 15 March 2020)
The US Mission in India has cancelled all US visa appointments from 16 March 2020 onward. Once the Mission resumes regular Consular operations, appointments will be made available and rescheduled.
Sri Lanka (as of 18 March 2020)
The Government of Sri Lanka has decided to close all international airports in Sri Lanka for operation of inward international commercial passenger flights (i.e. arrivals) with effect from 0400 hrs on 19 March 2020 until 2359 hrs on 25 March 2020 (local time in Sri Lanka).
Myanmar (as of 17 March 2020)
Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar will be taking following precautionary measures in relation to COVID-19 outbreak:
Foreign nationals who had been in high-risk areas such as Hubei Province of the People’s Republic of China, Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regions of the Republic of Korea in the past 14 days shall not be permitted entry into Myanmar until further notice.
All incoming travelleres including Myanmar nationals, who had been in the Republic of Korea outside those high-risk areas in the past 14 days, shall be subjected to 14-day home quarantine on their arrival. They will also need to present Medical Certificate, issued by a medical facility recognized by the health authorities of the respective countries, of having no symptoms of acute respiratory illness (fever and cough or shortness of breath) before boarding any airline destined to Myanmar.
All incoming travellers including Myanmar nationals, arriving from or having visited Italy, Iran, France, Spain and Germany in the past 14 days shall be subjected to 14-day facility quarantine on their arrival in Myanmar. As for diplomats accredited to Myanmar and the resident United Nations officials, they will be encouraged to take 14-day home quarantine on their arrival in Myanmar. All are required to present valid Medical Certificate issued by a medical facility recognized by the health authorities of the respective countries of having no symptoms of acute respiratory illness (fever and cough or shortness of breath) before boarding any airline destined to Myanmar.
Maldives (as of 15 March 2020)
All tourist check ins effective 17 March 2020 will be suspended from 17 March 2020 for a period of 14 days. All passengers and crew with travel history to the following countries or regions within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter or transit through the Maldives from the stated date:
- Mainland China, effective 4 February 2020
- Iran, effective 26 February 2020
- Republic of Korea (Daegu, Busan, Gyeonbuk and Gyeongnam), effective 3 March 2020
- Italy, effective 8 March 2020
- Bangladesh, effective from 10 – 24 March 2020
- Spain, effective from 15 March 2020
- France (Ile-de-France and Grand Est), effective 15 March 2020

Kingdom of Bahrain (as of 17 March 2020)
The Government of the Kingdom of the Bahrain has announced suspension of issuing of tourist visas on arrival for all nationalities, with the exception of holders of diplomatic, special, service, and United Nations laissez passer passports, and that all other passengers who desire to visit Bahrain must obtain an E-Visa from the Nationality, Passports and residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior prior to their departure effective 03:00 AM local time on March 18, 2020.
Finland (as of 18 March 2020)
Border traffic will be restricted at the internal and external borders of Finland w.e.f. 19 March 2020 (00:00) till 13 April 2020 (midnight). The authorized border crossing points for air traffic would be:- Helsinki, Mariehamn and Turku airports: only for goods traffic, return traffic of Finnish citizens and people residing in Finland or in another member state of European Union, necessary travel for work and other essential transport. Czech Republic (as of 13 March 2020)
Czech Republic declared the state of emergency in its entire territory for 30 days with effect from 12 March 2020, the government resolution orders for example:
- No entry for all foreigners coming from risk areas (except for foreigners staying temporarily over 90 days or persons with permanent residence in Czech Republic);
- To stop receiving applications for Schengen visa or another visa, temporary or permanent residence at all Czech diplomatic missions, consular offices or visa application centres;
- To stop processing of all applications for Schengen Visa which have not been decided yet;
- To stop processing of all applications for residence permits (stay over 90 days) lodged at the Czech diplomatic missions or consular offices.
Vaclav Havel Airport Prague and Prague Kbely airport are the only airports for international traffic. International flights from/to other airports in the Czech Republic are suspended.
Foreigners who are already legally staying in the Czech Republic are entitled to remain in the Czech Republic during validity of their visa (if needed) or residence permit.
Czech Republic reintroduced the controls at the internal land borders with the Federal Republic of Germanu and Austria w.e.f. 13 March 2020 and internal borders can only be crossed at the following designated points:
- At the border with Austria: Dolni Dvoriste – Wullowitz, Ceske Velenice – Gmund, Hate – Kleinhaugsdorf, Mikulov – Drasenhofen
- At the border with Germany: Strazny – Phillippsreut, Pomezi nad Ohri – Schirnding, Rozvadov – Waidhaus, Folmava – Furth im Wald/Schafberg, Zelezna Ruda – Bayerisch Eisenstein, Krasny Les – Breitenau, Hora svateho Sebestiana – Reitzenhain.
Brazil
The Government of Brazil has implemented a voluntary seven-day quarantine measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Travellers should prepare accordingly upon entry into Brazil. This policy applies to all nationalities and visa categories.

Visitors affected by the above policy and need to visit Singapore due to extenuating reasons may submit the completed Form 14 (Part V is optional) to ICA_nCoV_request@ica.gov.sg together with the following documents:

– Any other supporting documents

India
In the circular dated 16 March 2020 from the Government of India pertaining to travel and visa restrictions, the following additional restrictions are imposed:
- Passengers coming from and transiting through UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait will be compulsorily quarantined for 14 days starting 1200 GMT, 18 March 2020 at the port of first departure.
- Travel of passengers from member countries of European Union and European Free Trade Association, Turkey and United Kingdom to India is prohibited w.e.f. 18 March 2020. No airline shall board a passenger from these nations to India w.e.f. 1200 GMT, 18 March 2020. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
- Travel of passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines, Malysia to India is prohibited with immediate effect. No flight shall take off from these countries to India after 1500 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) 17 March 2020. The airline shall enforce this at the port of initial departure.
The above instructions are temporary measures and shall be in force till 31 March 2020 and will be reviewed thereafter.
Against the above backdrop, the Bhutanese travellers are advised to:
- Avoid travelling from or transiting through above countries until the restrictions are lifted.
- Only transit through Delhi or other Indian airports and not to exit the airports. Exiting the airport may subject the travellers to strict quarantine for 14 days.
Canada
Canada will be closing its borders to anyone who is not a citizen or a permanent resident. The new measure to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in Canada does not include US citizens.
Canadian borders have now been completely closed to all inbound travellers, except for permanent Canadian residents, the immediate family members of Canadian citizens, diplomats, air crews, and U.S. citizens. Access to Canada will be restricted beginning 18 March 2020 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.
International flights will also be redirected starting on the 18 March 2020, with all flights from overseas being sent to one of four airports — Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver
Airlines are also now required to do a basic health screening of anyone boarding a flight to Canada and those exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19 will be denied boarding.
Japan
All persons entering Japan from China or Republic of Korea by aircraft or other means, including persons without symptoms of illness, will be requested to stay for 14 days at a place designated by the Quarantine Station Chief (such as their homes), and not to use public transportation for any purpose, including transport from airports, etc.
Be sure that 14-day quarantine and nonuse of public transportation will not interfere with your itinerary after you enter Japan.
Before entering Japan, be sure to secure an accommodation in Japan where you can stay for 14 days in quarantine (especially important overseas visitors, who have no homes of their own in the country).
Be sure to secure a means of private transportation from the airport to your destination (you will not be permitted to use public transportation).
Czech Republic
Czech Republic declared the state of emergency in its entire territory for 30 days with effect from 12 March 2020, the government resolution orders for example:
- No entry for all foreigners coming from risk areas (except for foreigners staying temporarily over 90 days or persons with permanent residence in Czech Republic);
- To stop receiving applications for Schengen visa or another visa, temporary or permanent residence at all Czech diplomatic missions, consular offices or visa application centres;
- To stop processing of all applications for Schengen Visa which have not been decided yet;
- To stop processing of all applications for residence permits (stay over 90 days) lodged at the Czech diplomatic missions or consular offices.
Vaclav Havel Airport Prague and Prague Kbely airport are the only airports for international traffic. International flights from/to other airports in the Czech Republic are suspended.
Foreigners who are already legally staying in the Czech Republic are entitled to remain in the Czech Republic during validity of their visa (if needed) or residence permit.
Czech Republic reintroduced the controls at the internal land borders with the Federal Republic of Germanu and Austria w.e.f. 13 March 2020 and internal borders can only be crossed at the following designated points:
- At the border with Austria: Dolni Dvoriste – Wullowitz, Ceske Velenice – Gmund, Hate – Kleinhaugsdorf, Mikulov – Drasenhofen
- At the border with Germany: Strazny – Phillippsreut, Pomezi nad Ohri – Schirnding, Rozvadov – Waidhaus, Folmava – Furth im Wald/Schafberg, Zelezna Ruda – Bayerisch Eisenstein, Krasny Les – Breitenau, Hora svateho Sebestiana – Reitzenhain.
Republic of Kazakhstan
In order to prevent the spread of coronovirus infection, Kazakhstan has declared the state of emergency. Starting from 08:00 am on March 16, 2020, restriction will be introduced on entry and exit through the state border for the citizens of foreign states, with the exception of:
- foreigners who previously entered Kazakhstan for their departure from Kazakhstan; foreign passengers travelling on transit passengers trains- if they left and were en route before restrictions came into force (until 09:00 on March 16, 2020);
- foreigners who are family members of citizens of Kazakhstan;
- staff of the diplomatic service of Kazakhstan and foreign states and members of their families, as well as members of delegations of foreign states and international organizations travelling to Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to update the following additional information on the travel advisory with reference to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID -19). The information is as notified by the respective Governments:
Bangladesh:
1. All on-arrival visas of Bangladesh will remain suspended for two weeks which is applicable to incoming passengers of all countries;
2. With effect from 1200 hrs of 16 March 2020 until 31st March 2020, for two weeks, any passenger originating from Europe except UK will not be allowed to enter into Bangladesh;
3. Those who are arriving from other coronavirus affected countries must remain in quarantine for two weeks which is mandatory.
US Mission in India:
The US Mission in India has cancelled all US visa appointments from 16 March 2020 onward. Once the Mission resumes regular Consular operations, appointments will be made available and rescheduled.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to update the following additional information on the travel advisory posted on 12 March 2020 with reference to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID -19). The information is as notified by the respective Governments:
1. Sri Lanka – The Government of Sri Lanka has decided to temporarily suspend the on-arrival Electronic Authorization (ETA) facility for foreign nationals holding normal/ordinary passports from 1200 hrs (Sri Lankan Time) on 14 March 2020 until further notice. Foreign nationals intending to visit Sri Lanka may obtain visas prior to their arrival via online (www.eta.gov.lk), respective Sri Lankan Missions and Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration of Sri Lanka
2. India – Travel restrictions imposed by GoI on foreigners till 15 April 2020 will not apply to Bhutanese. However, Bhutanese will be subjected to COVID-19 screening, particularly if they come from COVID-19 affected countries.
3. Thailand – Visa on arrival in Thailand for Bhutanese has been suspended until further notice. Bhutanese who wish to travel to Thailand will have to obtain prior visa and may also be asked to produce a health certificate to say you are free of COVID-19. Foreign tourists arriving at all international airport in Thailand will be required to download an AOT Airports application onto their mobile phones; fill up individual biodata and present to the Immigration.
4. Bangladesh – Foreign nationals who have lived or travelled to China, Iran, Italy, Republic of Korea within last 14 days need valid visa to travel to Bangladesh and will be requested to observe self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival in Bangladesh.
5. Nepal – Visa on arrival for all foreigners including Bhutanese has been suspended till 30 April 2020. Foreigner with a valid visa for Nepal have to take a swab test and submit on arrival to Immigration authorities a PCR health certificate issued maximum 7 days before arrival. Any foreign nationals including NRNs willing to visit Nepal for compelling reasons may contact to Nepali diplomatic mission abroad. A recent swab test PCR health certificate issued maximum 7 days before their arrival to Nepal is mandatory along with visa application and it has to be submitted at the immigration office TIA.
6. Singapore – All new visitors with recent travel history to the following regions within the last 14 days will not be allowed entry into Singapore, or transit through Singapore:
a. France, Germany, Italy, Spain w.e.f. 15 March 2020, 2359 hrs
b. Iran, northern Italy, Republic of Korea w.e.f. 4 March 2020, 2359 hrs
c. Daegu city or Cheongdo county, Republic of Korea w.e.f. 26 February 2020, 2359 hrs
d. Mainland China w.e.f. 1 February 2020, 2359 hrs
Visitors affected by the above policy and need to visit Singapore due to extenuating reasons may submit the completed Form 14 (Part V is optional) to ICA_nCoV_request@ica.gov.sg together with the following documents:
– A copy of the passport bio data page
– Any other supporting documents

Starting 10 March 2020, those who fall under the following three categories below are not permitted to land in Japan for the time being unless there are exceptional circumstances:

Foreign nationals who have travelled to Hubei/Zhejiang Province in the People’s Republic of China, or Daegu/Gyeongsangbuk-do (Cheongdo-gun/Gyeonsgsan-si/Andong-si/Yeongcheon-si/Chilgok-gun/Uiseong-gun/Seongjun-gun/ Choengdo -gun/Gunwi-gun) in Korea, or Qom/Teheran/Gilan/Mazandaran/Isfahan/Alborz/ Markazi/Qazvin/Semnan/Golestan/Lorestan Province in Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) within 14 days before arriving in Japan.
ii. Foreign nationals who hold a passport issued by the Hubei/Zhejiang Province Authority.
iii. Foreign Nationals aboard a passenger ship which sails for the purpose of entering Japanese port and carries a risk of being afflicted by an outbreak of novel coronavirus infectious disease.

The following Information on visa regulations of those countries which have connecting flight to Bhutan or where Bhutanese airlines are operational have been notified to our Embassies/Mission/Consulates and posted on Ministry’s website and social media handles:

Travellers to Singapore who exhibit fever and /or other symptoms of respiratory illness, but who do not meet the clinical suspect case definition, may be required to undergo COVID-19 swab test at the checkpoint. They may carry on with their journey after undergoing the test. Those with a positive result will be contacted and conveyed to the hospitals. Visitors refusing to test will not be allowed to enter.
12th March 2020:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to update the following additional information on the travel advisory posted on 11 March 2020 with reference to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID -19). The information is as notified by the respective Governments:
India (dated 11 March 2020)
All existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN/International Organizations, employment, project visas, stand suspended till 15th April, 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of departure.
Visa free travel facility granted to OCI card holders is kept in abeyance till April 15th 2020. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of departure.
Any foreign national who intends to travel to India for compelling reason may contact the nearest Indian Mission.
All incoming travelers, including Indian nationals, arriving from or having visited China Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany after 15th February, 2020 shall be quarantined for a minimum period of 14 days. This will come into effect from 1200 GMT on 13th March 2020 at the port of Departure.
Incoming travellers, including Indian nationals are advised to avoid non-essential travel and are informed that they can be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days on their arrival in India.
Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid all non-essential travel abroad. On their return, they can be subjected to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.
International traffic through land borders will be restricted to Designated check posts with robust screening facilities. These will be notified separately by M/o Home Affairs.

Thailand
Information via AOT app required from inbound travellers to Thailand
All Foreign Tourist (including Thai returnees) arriving at all international airport in Thailand will be required to:
- Download an AOT Airports application onto their mobile phones;
- Fill in the required information such as name; surname; passport ID; mobile phone number; email address; and
- Present the information to the immigration officials on duty.
The information will be stored for 14 days after arrival. In the case of the virus-infected person, the information will enable related Agencies to follow protocols. The state Agencies will also be able to trace and inform passengers on the same flight as the infected individual. Thailand is cancelling visa exemption for South Korea, Hong Kong and Italy. There shall be no visa on arrival for Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Malta, Mexico, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Uzbekistan and Vanuatu.
Citizens of those countries will now have to get visas at their local Thai Embassy. You may also be asked to produce a health certificate to say you are free of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to notify that the first positive case of COVID-19 in Bhutan has been confirmed on 5th March 2020. In accordance with the National Preparedness and Response Plan, Royal Government has announced the closure of schools and institutes in Thimphu, Paro and Punakha (the three places visited by the patient between 2nd and 5th March 2020) for two weeks with effect from March 6, 2020. The Royal Government has also imposed two weeks restriction on all incoming visitors and all international/regional conferences and seminars to be held in Bhutan are also postponed. These are being done to enable rigorous monitoring, source assessment of infection and mitigate the situation. The government will assess the situation after two weeks and accordingly decide on restrictions.
The outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID -19) has now spread to around 80 countries. The list of affected countries and territories keep increasing and therefore, travelers are advised to check travel advisory put in place by respective countries before commencing travel.
Bhutanese travelling to Thailand, Nepal and India are advised to take note of the following advisories issued by the respective governments:
Thailand
Visitors to Thailand from South Korea, Germany, China, Taiwan, Japan, France, Singapore, Italy, Iran, Macau and Hong Kong as “high risk areas” for COVID-19.
Given this designation, visitors from the aforementioned countries and territories will now be subject to 14-days home quarantine regardless of whether or not they are infected with the virus. They are also required to file a daily health report with the designated health officials during this period.
The travelers exhibiting flu-like symptoms are to be sent to State Hospitals for further testing and quarantine, expenses for which are to be borne by the individuals themselves. Travelers transiting via China, South Korea, Iran, Japan and Italy will have to submit their health certificates stating that they are not infected by COVID-19, at immigration points in Nepal.
India
Passengers of all international flights entering into India from any port are required to furnish duly filled self-declaration form (including personal particulars i.e. phone number and address in India) and travel history, to health officials and immigration officials at all ports.
Passengers (foreign and Indian other than those restricted, arriving directly or indirectly from China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan must undergo medical screening at port of entry. Thailand
Visitors to Thailand from South Korea, Germany, China, Taiwan, Japan, France, Singapore, Italy, Iran, Macau and Hong Kong as “high risk areas” for COVID-19.
Given this designation, visitors from the aforementioned countries and territories will now be subject to 14-days home quarantine regardless of whether or not they are infected with the virus. They are also required to file a daily health report with the designated health officials during this period.
The travelers exhibiting flu-like symptoms are to be sent to State Hospitals for further testing and quarantine, expenses for which are to be borne by the individuals themselves. Nepal
Travelers transiting via China, South Korea, Iran, Japan and Italy will have to submit their health certificates stating that they are not infected by COVID-19, at immigration points in Nepal.
India
Passengers of all international flights entering into India from any port are required to furnish duly filled self-declaration form (including personal particulars i.e. phone number and address in India) and travel history, to health officials and immigration officials at all ports.
Passengers (foreign and Indian other than those restricted, arriving directly or indirectly from China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan must undergo medical screening at port of entry. The list of affected countries and territories keep increasing therefore, travelers are advised to check before travelling and are advised to be alert.
Coronaviruse causes illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
Common symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
Some preventive measures are basic hand and respiratory hygiene, and safe food practices and avoiding close contact, when possible, with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.
