Emergency Passport services
The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bhutan issues Emergency Passport or Emergency Travel Document in the event of loss or damage of a Passport or Travel Document while travelling abroad and to newborn child up to one year of age, born to Bhutanese parents or to a Bhutanese legally married to a foreigner, in a foreign country. The Emergency Passport or Emergency Travel Document is intended only to facilitate the travel of the bearer back to Bhutan. Upon the bearer’s return to the country, the Emergency Passport or Emergency Travel Document shall be surrendered immediately to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An application for an emergency passport or travel document should be accompanied by a copy of police report, in case of loss, copy of citizenship identity card and copy of the lost passport if available and a fee of Nu. 1000.00 or its equivalent in CHF or EURO.
