Permanent Representative Ambassador Doma Tshering signed an MOU with the Under-Secretary General for United Nations Operational Support, Mr. Atul Khare, on Bhutan’s contribution to the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). In keeping with His Majesty the King’s vision, this marks Bhutan’s first deployment of a uniformed contingent to a UN Peacekeeping Mission.
Once deployed, Bhutan will rank 54th out of 121 UN Troop and Police Contributing Countries, up from 81st as of 30 April 2022.
