The new UN Resident Coordinator and UN Development Programme Resident Representative, Mr. Gerald Daly presented his credentials to the Hon’ble Foreign Minister, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, at a ceremony conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gyalyong Tshokhang on 2 March 2017
Mr. Daly holds Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Medford, Massachusetts, USA. Before being appointed as the UNDP Resident Representative and UN Resident Coordinator, he worked as a Policy Adviser/Team Leader with the UN Development Operations Coordination Office/UNDG in New York from 2011. He has also served as the World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director and Representative in Thimphu from February 2003 to June 2007.
Mr. Daly is an Irish national. He succeeds Ms. Christina Carlson, who served from July 2013 to August 2016.
