The Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Dhaka celebrated the 110th National Day of Bhutan with the Bhutanese community on the morning of 17th December 2017 followed by a reception in the evening. The reception was graced by H.E. Rashed Khan Menon, Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as the chief guest. Other attendees included Bangladesh government officials, members of the diplomatic corp, academia, prominent businessmen, media, and Bhutanese community.

During his speech, Ambassador Sonam Tobden Rabgye said that our National Day is the celebration of the establishment of the Bhutanese monarchy in 1907. He highlighted the leadership of successive monarchs in bringing peace and prosperity to the nation.

On 14th December, the Royal Bhutanese Embassy and the Honorary Consul of Bhutan to Sri Lanka co-hosted a reception in Colombo to celebrate the National Day. The reception was also well attended by Government officials, diplomatic corp, academia, business fraternity, and Bhutanese studying and working in Colombo.
