On the joyous occasion of the 38th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the King on 21 February 2018 the Royal Bhutanese Embassy and the Bhutanese students in Thailand held special prayers and merit making ceremony at Wat Arun, (Temple of the Dawn) for the long life and continued good health of His Majesty the King.

The monks of the temple led by the Acting Abbot of the temple conducted the special prayers and merit making ceremony at the main chapel. This was followed by offering of robes to 38 monks and chanting of Zhabten by the Embassy officials and Bhutanese students. To mark the auspicious occasion white doves were also released at the temple grounds.

The celebrations continued at the Embassy where Tashi Moenlam was offered along with chanting of Zhabten and a birthday cake cutting ceremony. Lunch and refreshments were served by the Embassy for all the people gathered.
