H.E. Ms. Fekitamoela Katoa ‘Utolkamanu – Under Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) is on a five-day visit to Bhutan from 24-28 February 2018. Ms. Fekitamoela Katoa ‘Utolkamanu took up her appointment as the High Representative and Under Secretary-General for UN-OHRLLS in May 2017.

The Under Secretary-General called on Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Foreign Minister at the Gyalyong Tshokhang today and held discussions on a wide range of multilateral issues, including Bhutan’s association with the United Nations and UN-OHRLLS. During the visit, the Under Secretary General will also call on the Hon’ble Finance Minister, Hon’ble Economic Affairs Minister and senior government officials.

The UN-OHRLLS was established by the UN General Assembly in 2011 and deals with the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States. The office monitors implementation of the Programme  of Action for the Least Developed Countries. It also assists the UN Economic and Social Council in assessing progress and conducting the annual review of these Programmes of Action.
