On 08 November  2018, officials from the Ministry of Health, RGOB, received the second consignment   of   essential    medicines    from   the   Government    of Bangladesh at the  Burimari Land Port. After the symbolic handing-over ceremony of medicines  on 23rd July 2018 in Dhaka between the Bhutanese  Ambassador  H.E. Sonam T. Rabgye and  the  Minister  for Health and Family Welfare H.E. Mohammed Nasim, the first consignment of essential  medicines weighing 35 metric tonnes  was delivered to Bhutan on 27 September 2018.

Of the  total  of  258 types  of essential  medicines  graciously  committed by Hon’ble Prime Minister  of Bangladesh  H.E. Sheikh Hasina during  her  state  visit to Bhutan in April 2017, the  remaining  consignment is expected to be delivered before the end of 2018.

The milestone is an important testament to the strong and unique bond of bilateral ties and cooperation which exists between  Bhutan and Bangladesh.
