The Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Dhaka joined the nation in observing the 39th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King at the Embassy on 21st February 2019.

Bhutanese students and officials working in different capacities across Bangladesh attended the occasion in the embassy which included the Flag hoisting, the National Anthem, and the lighting of a butter lamp by Kutshab Sonam T Rabgye.

Kutshab addressed the gathering on the significance of observing such special events and interacted with those students who have recently arrived in Bangladesh for higher studies. Recreational activities were also organized in the afternoon.

In the morning Kutshab, Embassy staff and some other Bhutanese officials carried out fish Tshethar in the form of a live fish release followed by offering prayers at Dharmarajika Buddhist temple for His Majestyโ€™s good health, wellbeing and happiness. The prayer ceremony was presided over by the Chief Abbot of the monastery.
