The 1stBhutan-India Small Development Project Committee (SDPC)/ High-Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) meeting was held on 29th April 2019 in Thimphu. The Bhutanese delegation was led by Mr. SonamTobgay, Director, Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Indian delegation by Mr. R. Gaurav Shresth, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Thimphu. Other Members, comprising of Directors from GNHC and Finance Ministry as well as Indian Embassy officials, also attended the Committee Meeting.
The total GoI assistance committed for the SDP/HICDP is Nu. 8,500 million under 12thFYP. The meeting reviewed and approved 149 projects amounting to Nu. 1970.60 million under the 1st batch of SDP. Construction of permanent structures for farm roads, irrigation channels, water supply, farm roads and Basic Health Units are some of the major projects approved under the 1st batch of 12thFYP SDP.
The leader of the Bhutanese delegation conveyed the deep gratitude of the people and the Royal Government of Bhutan to the people and Government of India for its continued assistance towards Bhutanโs socio โ economic development.
