- The Embassy of Japan in New Delhi will be organizing the annual โJapan Weekโ from 28 September to 6 October 2019 in Thimphu and Paro. The Opening Ceremony of the Japan Week is scheduled on 29 September 2019 at the Clock Tower Square. The Minister for Health, Lyonpo Dechen Wangmo, will grace the Opening Ceremony. Ambassador of Japan to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, and officials from Embassy of Japan in New Delhi will also be attending the ceremony.
- Japan Week was formally launched on 22 October 2006 in Thimphu during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Japan. Since then, the Japanese Embassy in New Delhi has been organizing Japan Week in Bhutan annually.
- The Japan Week 2019 will consist of activities such as screening of Japanese films, Karate and judo demonstration, musical performance, Japanese cuisine, Seminar on Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and a football class.
