At the invitation of the President of India, Dr. Pranab Mukherjee, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen will be on an official visit to India from 6-10 January 2014. His Majesty will be accompanied by Lyonpo Damchoe Dorji, Minister for Home & Cultural Affairs, Lyonpo Rinzin Dorje, Foreign Minister, Lyonpo Norbu Wangchuk, Minister for Economic Affairs and other senior officials of the Royal Government. During the visit, His Majesty is scheduled to meet the President, Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid, National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon, and other senior officials of the Government of India.
The visit is a part of a well-established tradition of regular exchanges of high-level visits between leaders of Bhutan and India, which is an important factor in nurturing the excellent relations existing between the two countries.
