Bhutan’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Aum Pema Choden, presented credentials to H.E. Mohamed Abdul Hamid, President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, today at Bangabhaban, the official residence of the President in Dhaka.
During the courtesy call following the ceremony, Aum Pema Choden conveyed the greetings and well-wishes of His Majesty the King and the people of Bhutan to the President and the people of Bangladesh and said she was highly honoured to serve in this important position. She commended the excellent bilateral relations between Bhutan and Bangladesh and conveyed her commitment to further deepen and strengthen all existing ties between the two friendly countries.
The President recalled with gratitude Bhutan’s support and friendship to Bangladesh at the time of its independence. The President also recalled fondly the visits to Bangladesh by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, and the discussions he had with His Majesty the King .
The President underlined the importance of bilateral ties and trade between the two countries and his full support to further promoting these ties.
Aum Pema Choden is Bhutan’s 11th Ambassador to Bangladesh.
