Bhutan-Sweden relations

Diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Sweden were established on 27 August 1985. Informal relations between Sweden and Bhutan began in the late 1960s when a Swedish NGO known as Kwinnliza Missiongarbetare Sweden (KMA) or Swedish Women Association, financed the establishment of the Zangley Muenselling School for the Blind in Khaling.

Mrs. Tshering Gyaltshen Penjor , Ambassador of Bhutan in Brussels, is accredited to Sweden. H.E. Mr. Klas Molin, Ambassador of Sweden to India, is concurrently accredited to Bhutan.

Sweden provided assistance to various government agencies in the 9th Five Year Plan (2002-2007) was $ 1.2 million.
