Visit to New Delhi by His Excellency Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Hon’ble Foreign Minister
His Excellency Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Minister for Foreign Affairs, paid an official visit to New Delhi to participate in the celebration of the 38th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King on 21st February 2018 at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy to commemorate the Golden Jubilee celebrations on the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between Bhutan and India. The event was graced by Her Excellency Shrimati Sushma Swaraj, Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs of India as the Chief Guest.
While in New Delhi, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji had a bilateral meeting with Her Excellency Shrimati Sushma Swaraj, Hon’ble Minister for External Affairs of India. During the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers held discussions on a range of matters of bilateral interest between Bhutan and India. External Affairs Minister Shrimati Sushma Swaraj hosted a dinner in honour of Lyonpo Damcho Dorji.
The visit by Lyonpo Damcho Dorji to India has further strengthened the very close ties of friendship and understanding between the two countries. Lyonpo was also accompanied by the Foreign Secretary Mr. Sonam Tshong.
